Scope and contact
This policy describes information handled by the Noyaku application. Websites visited through its browser and external services have their own policies. For privacy questions or deletion requests, contact [email protected].
Accounts
If you create an account, Firebase Authentication processes your email address and authentication information. Noyaku uses this service to sign you in and manage your account. You can use the account-deletion control in the app’s settings; sensitive operations may require signing in again.
Purchases and service usage
Apple or Google processes store payments. RevenueCat processes an app-user identifier, purchase and subscription information, and entitlement status so Noyaku can provide paid features and restore purchases. Identifiers may be anonymous to your email account but still distinguish an app user or installation.
Noyaku’s backend receives the RevenueCat app-user identifier and records translation usage, remaining allowance, and subscription tier to enforce limits. Network requests also expose technical information such as IP addresses to the servers that receive them. This means information beyond an email address is processed remotely.
Translation and browsing
When you use online translation, submitted text, prompts, language selections, and relevant context are sent to the selected translation service. Depending on your settings, requests may go through Noyaku’s Cloudflare-hosted backend and its upstream provider, or directly to providers such as Google Gemini or OpenRouter. API credentials you configure are used for the selected provider’s requests. Do not include confidential information in content you submit for online translation.
Analytics
Noyaku uses Firebase Analytics to understand feature usage and improve the app. Events include onboarding, reading and importing, translation, paywall views, and purchase outcomes. The current browsing analytics implementation sends the domain, URL path, and up to the first 100 characters of the visited URL. URLs can contain identifying information. Firebase may also process installation identifiers, device/app information, and network information under its service configuration.
Local storage and permissions
Noyaku stores library content, downloaded chapters, bookmarks, glossaries, translation caches, preferences, browser data, and configured provider settings on the device as used by its features. These local stores are separate from subscription, authentication, analytics, and quota records held remotely. Device backups may retain app data under your operating system’s backup settings.
File or photo selection features use the system picker and platform access controls. Noyaku includes an iOS photo-library usage description for content importing. Available permissions and prompts depend on the platform and enabled feature. Manage permissions through your device settings.
Providers and support
Services used by the app include Firebase Authentication and Analytics, RevenueCat, Cloudflare, the applicable app store, and the translation or fetching providers used for your selected feature. Their processing and international transfers are governed by their policies and applicable agreements. If you contact support by email or Discord, that service receives your message and any information you choose to include.
Retention, deletion, and choices
You can remove local library items using app controls and manage website data through available browser or device controls. Uninstalling the app does not automatically delete records held by external services or cancel subscriptions. Deleting the Firebase account does not itself demonstrate deletion of separate RevenueCat, analytics, backend, or backup records. Contact support to request deletion of remotely held information; identifying the relevant account or app-user identifier may be necessary. Store transaction records may remain with Apple or Google under their policies and legal obligations.
Changes
When this policy changes, its published update date will change. Contact support if you have questions about a change or your data.
